GORE® Wear launch two new mountain bike jackets fit for puddles, splashes and mud spray

Mountain bikers know only too well that on the mountain weather can change from one moment to the next, sometimes with all four seasons converging in a day. Mud and dirt on the tracks are an equally intrinsic part of mountain biking. That’s why outerwear that offers flexible and robust all-weather protection is imperative to see riders through all the ups and downs and wardrobe changes that a change in weather can bring.
New to the GORE® Wear collection for 2019, the GORE® C5 GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ Hybrid Hooded Jacket is a technical jacket that can be worn for a broad range of activities and provides a fabric solution for the best of the blistering and bedraggled temperatures.
Predominantly made of GORE® WINDSTOPPER® Stretch Material, the GORE® C5 GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ Hybrid Hooded Jacket is as comfortable to wear as a softshell. Critical areas of the jacket, like the shoulders, upper body and arms, are constructed from a waterproof GORE-TEX Active material, targeting the parts of your body that need the most weather protection. Additionally, just like any fully equipped hardshell jacket, it offers puddle splash and mud spray protection to the seat area.
GORE® Wear designer Kristina Mora explains the process behind GORE-TEX INFINIUM™, “Under the GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ umbrella brand, we are now able to bring together the most advanced technologies to provide the best possible comfort and protection. In other words, we get as much out of the product as we possibly can.”
“This makes the GORE® C5 GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ Hybrid Hooded Jacket a highly versatile jacket.”
The stand-out feature of this jacket is its lightweight and breathable fabric, making it the ideal companion for all-mountain biking activities. The form-fitting cut is available in black, red or blue colour schemes that also feature reflective logos to keep riders visible at night.
Anyone looking for full rain protection out on the trails should look no further than the GORE® C5 GORE-TEX Trail Hooded Jacket. While it is also light, ultra-packable and robust, the GORE® C5 GORE-TEX Trail Hooded Jacket is totally waterproof and yet still breathable. This jacket delivers the comfort any mountain bike rider needs to perform at their best, even on the most strenuous of rides.
Here too, the GORE® Wear team has worked with a mixture of different fabrics. A strong and resilient ripstop GORE-TEX PACLITE® Plus laminate is used for specific areas of the jacket, on places like the elbows, shoulders and upper back. Primarily made of GORE-TEX Active fabric, this jacket is particularly notable for its comfort performance.
