Formed in 1976, the company specialises in the design, installation, commissioning, validation and maintenance of Direct Digital Control systems for the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Process industries. Major clients currently include GlaxoSmithKline and Alliance Cornhill.

Founder of Ewhurst Control Services, John Green, has been a dedicated and enthusiastic cyclist for over 25 years, and has demonstrated his commitment to the development of the sport, and excellence in it, through his sponsorship of amateur cycling teams for many years. The Wembley Road Club, which John co-sponsored and rode for from 1986, benefited from Ewhurst Control Services sponsorship for many years and produced a number of professional cyclists, including Roger Hammond, Steve Deuce and Gary Ford.

For the last 3 years, John’s passion for cycling has been demonstrated through Ewhurst Control Services role as a primary sponsor of The Wild Side Racing Team. John’s vision is for the team to continue to build on the previous 3 years and establish a team of dedicated high quality riders, capable of winning at National & South East Regional level as well as being competitive abroad.

Founder of Wild Side in 1992 and primary team sponsor, Richard Smith is delighted to have this association with one of the highest profile road teams in the South East. Whilst the shop started primarily as a mountain bike shop, over the last four years has extended into road and triathlon.

For the team, Wild Side represents the hub of our activities and Richard and his staff play a pivotal role in keeping the team on the road.

We’ve used Competition tubs and GP4000’s for racing, they have proved very reliable as well as being light and lively. For training, some riders have stayed on the GP4000’s ( that reliable), whilst others have been on the Attack/Force combination (both tyres have also offered a very high mileage). As a winter work-horse tyre we’ve been using Gatorskins.

All served their stated purpose perfectly.

Saddle and bar tape supplier to the team.

Saddles can be a thing of personal choice, only one of our riders (for personal reasons !) couldn’t get on with it. Everyone else loved them and they looked great on the team bikes.

Bar tape – the perfect bar tape for racing.

Team bottles and race nutrition. Favourites have included electrolyte (throughout the summer) and PSP22 drinks as well as Rego. Go gels and bars have been used for race food as well as the occasional snack.

Everyone seemed to have there own favourite flavours.

We have no need to use other nutritional products outside the SIS range.
