Paul writes; Stage 3b in the afternoon was again shortened and run over a slightly altered course than that originally shown in the race program due to the limited field. None the less it was another good days racing.
Team Kinesis looked set on breaking the field up right from the start as they sprinted for the points on offer before heading out of the Circuit and onto the open roads. Again an early break formed in the opening miles containing King of the Mountains Matthew Higgins (Team Corley Cycles) which had the other jersey wearers and their respective teams chasing.
The steeper the hills got today the more at ease Higgins seemed to be. Over the Tumble and out towards Midhurst and it was Higgins who seemed to be applying the pressure splitting the field on the climb up from South Harting. Back over the Tumble and onto the Goodwood Circuit for a final six laps it was again Higgins in the lead although once onto the flat open circuit there was little chance of him staying clear. A concerted effort by the chasers saw the whole field come back together, only for it to again be split, this time by the Kinesis RT in their hunt for points. At the bell it looked to be between several riders but as they came to the finish it was Tom Murray (Kinesis RT) who had opened enough of a gap to be able to cross the line arms aloft.
After three days of racing the race is still wide open with anyone of about nine riders that are within a couple of minutes of the race leader well able to take victory.

This was a split stage with a short tt in the morning and a road stage in the afternoon.

Our legs were sore for the tt, Simon was 9th, I was 10th and Mark was 26th.
The road stage was just like the others, a break went after about 6 miles and we chased the whole stage.
Mark and Simon rode their nuts off for me. Mark blew on Harting hill and Simon punctured about 10 miles later on.
The last climb up the trundle the rider in 2nd on gc took off with his team mate and eventually got across to the break. This left around 10 up the road with 6 of us chasing. It took about 15 miles to close this 30 second gap and I was really spent at the finish.
It was a job well done and I’m still in the lead by 28 seconds, we will just have to see how tomorrow goes.
A really big thankyou to Simon and Mark for all their work!
